Tuesday marks the first Valentine’s Day in 4 years that I won’t be around kissy-faced couples all night….as I recently left the restaurant industry after approx. 8 years of being a server. 8 years of Valentines Days. Here’s a tip: If you actually like your significant other, don’t take them out on Valentines Day. It’s a huge cliche and you’ll get horrible service because of all the hype. And the server will assume you’re a cheapskate, because most people that take their luvahhs out on V-Day are usually the folks who NEVER go out for a nice dinner. They’re kinda of like the people who only go to church on Christmas and Easter.
Either way, coincidentally, this is also my first Valentine’s Day in quite a while where I’m legitimately single. Single, single. Like, no love interest. No boo. No beau. No booskie. No…nothing. Its rather refreshing, actually.
So rather than frantically throwing together a shitty Valentine’s day gift…which is what I usually ended up doing because the holiday never did much for me, anyway….I’m going to be spending it like any other normal day, frantically throwing together things like an outfit for work, my hair & makeup, some (probably late) homework, and a dinner that I’ll probably eat standing up. However, if this day is gonna be a rough one for you, I suggest you read this article.
